Violent guitars and a growling bass are the raw material for Apulantaīs punky indie rock. Combined with beautiful, catchy melodies with a traditional Finnish flavour, they are a unique-sounding mix guaranteed to cause a reaction. Besides of pulverizing hammer blows of aggression, Apulanta are also capable of expressing other kinds of emotions with their tunes - sadness, love, loneliness, and even a fleeting moment of joy every now and then. The mellow side softly soothes the heart before the dark side tears it apart.

On stage Apulanta are extremely energetic. No, their sound is not the cleanest and yes, they sometimes hit a flat note or two, but this is more than made up by the sheer power and passion of their performance. An Apulanta show is a chain of storms and calms before the storms, like a psychological profile of a homicidal maniac. Or that of a genius.

The early days of Apulanta were a battle for survival, but a lot has changed since then. Today their albums sell platinum, and their single "Spank me" has sold more than any other single in Finland. Two years in a row, their videos have been voted "Best of the Year" in Jyrki, the Finnish MuchMusic. Despite becoming national rockīnīroll heroes, Apulanta have not forgotten where they came from. They are still independent, still riotous, and still hungry.
